Claire Farrington (artistic director)
 

Claire Farrington founded Net Curtains Theatre Company in July 2001. Her most recent success with Net Curtains was 'Dreamland' at Margate’s Theatre Royal, which she commissioned, produced, fundraised for and performed in.  Claire trained as an actress at The Oxford School of Drama and her theatrical credits include ‘Cousin Basilio’  (Greenwich Playhouse), ‘Skyscraping’ (Soho Theatre and Southwark Playhouse), ‘Three Hard Blasts’ (Tricycle Theatre), ‘Flood’ (Arcola Theatre) and 'One, Nineteen' (Arcola and New Wolsey Studio, Ipswich). Television work includes ‘The Last Secret of Dr Crippen’ for Channel 4 and ‘Narnia: Behind the Game’ for Bravo.  She also presents on web television, the internet and for TV London. She continues to mix acting work with producing for Net Curtains.

 
Tim Stimpson (associate artistic director)
 
Tim graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA (Hons) in English and Drama and an MPhil in Playwriting Studies. He then joined ‘The Archers’ (BBC Radio 4) as their youngest ever writer and is now approaching his two hundredth episode. In 2003 he teamed up with Net Curtains for ‘Breathing Space’ (Soho Theatre) and ‘Skyscraping’ (Southwark Playhouse). Tim’s involvement with the company was re-established in 2006 with an evening of short plays, entitled ‘Flood’ (Arcola Theatre). His play ‘One, Nineteen’ was development into a full-length piece and returned to the Arcola before transferring to the New Wolsey Studio, Ipswich in 2008. Tim’s most recent work for Net Curtains, ‘First Impressions’, is currently in development for Margate’s Theatre Royal. Tim also writes for the medical drama ‘Doctors’ on BBC1.
 
Nicola Wiebkin (producer)
 
Nicola graduated from Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in English Literature. Whilst there she became involved with her local radio station, which influenced her decision to work in the media. After graduation Nicola moved to London to begin her career in broadcasting. After working at the BBC for six years Nicola left to explore the independent world of television. She now co-ordinates a popular entertainment show.

 
    
Simon Marshall (commerical director)
 

Simon has worked in the City of London for the past decade for a variety of different professional services firms in public relations and business development roles. He has also been a journalist and a researcher. He joined Net Curtains during the production of ‘Dreamland’ in 2009. He is now responsible for fundraising and profile building.


 

 
Laura Free (assistant to the directors)
 
Laura has recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA (Hons) in English Studies. During her time at university Laura worked extensively with the student-run New Theatre in a variety of capacities including directing, costume managing and performing, as well as holding a position on the society committee through 2008-09. In Summer 2008 Laura performed in a successful student written production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and she recently completed a two week summer school with New Perspectives Theatre Company in Nottingham.
 
 
Alan Caig Wilson (projects director)
 
Alan originally trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and the Ecole Lecoq. Between 1989 and 2002 he directed and performed in the UK, Finland, Germany, Austria, the US and Japan. He is a Fringe First award winner on the Edinburgh Fringe and was an associate director at Theatre Workshop Edinburgh from 1995 to 1998. In 2004/5 he was Resident Assistant Director to Gareth Machin at Southwark Playhouse, where he was also Literary Associate. In 2005, he graduated with distinction from the first MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck University of London. Most recently he has directed ‘The Herd of Standlan’ and ‘The Ragged Lion’ for Rowan Tree Theatre Company in Scotland. For Net Curtains he was in overall charge of ‘Flood’ in July 2006. Between 2006 & 2008 he developed and directed ‘One, Nineteen’ (Arcola Theatre, New Wolsey Studio), in conjunction with Tim Stimpson. In 2009 he was Project Manager for ‘Dreamland’ (Margate Theatre Royal).
     
Tom Clarke (website and design)
 
Tom has worked with Net Curtains since it first started, designing and developing the website as well as producing publicity material for shows and events.
